Christie Kros gave birth to daughter, Savannah on Saturday in the midwife led unit housed at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital.

Christie and husband Graeme, who run the MD Warriors marshall arts organisation in Oswestry said they are absolutely thrilled to have become parents.

"I am delighted that we could have Savannah in Oswestry. We are totally in love with her."

The in-patient ward at the midwife led unit, along with others in Bridgnorth and Ludlow, closed in the summer because of staff shortages at the consultant unit at the Princess Royal Hospital. After the recruitment of nurses they reopened on January 1."
