Teldoc surgeries to close for digital updates

Patients at a super-surgery with nine centres are being advised that most of the sites will be closed on Friday for digital files to be updated.

Residents registered with Teldoc Medical Practice also being urged to order medication as soon as possible to avoid running out while the surgeries are closed for the database operation to be carried out.

Oakengates Medical Practice, Trinity Healthcare, Hadley Health Centre, Aqueduct, Leegomery, Malinslee, Madeley and Lightmoor centres will close at midday on Friday(6). Only Lawley Teldoc will remain open.

Patients are also advised that all of the branches including Lawley will close at midday on October 20.

When the surgeries are closed an emergency service will be provided by Shropdoc on 0333 222 6655.

There will be no pre-booked appointments available on the mornings of October 9 and 23, but a telephone consultation service will be available for urgent matters only.

After the system updates log in details for the Patients Access facility at Lawley and Oakengates will need to be reset and will be available for users at Oakengates from the week beginning October 16 and for Lawley from the week beginning October 30.

Teldoc Medical Practice director Wayne Cooper said: "On behalf of Teldoc I would like to apologise if this work causes you any inconvenience, but the closures are necessary in order to complete the database mergers and will be of benefit to the practice and patients in the future. Please bear with us during this time, we appreciate your patience."

The practice serves around 44,000 people and was launched in April with 18 GP partners.
