Time to act as deadline looms

The deadline for making claims under the Basic Payment Scheme and Countryside Stewardship Scheme is fast approaching and all claims need to be submitted online by Monday, May 17.

To benefit, land owners that occupy more than five hectares of land must hold the appropriate number of entitlements – which is one entitlement to one hectare of land. Entitlements are tradable, therefore if you own land but do not have entitlements these can be bought, but this too has to be completed with the claim and the transfers made by the deadline in order to benefit from the 2021 scheme.

These schemes and the different requirements can seem complicated but my team and I complete more than 150 Basic Payment Scheme claims and more than 100 Countryside Stewardship annual claims each year. We are up to date with the ever-changing rules and cross compliance regulations including the forthcoming changes to subsidies going forward with the introduction of the Environmental Land Management Scheme.

We recommend not leaving any claims to the last minute and if you do require any assistance then please contact us.
