“Our experienced team is willing to go the extra mile to provide an excellent service and we have a lot of loyal customers who believe in us and trust our products and services,” said Paul (Tex) Hamer, a founding director of the firm.

This reputation for customer care and service has not gone unnoticed by the machinery trade as the firm has just earned is Case IH Certified Dealer Standard Award for meeting and exceeding sales targets and providing exceptional customer service and parts back-up.

“We are also pleased to announce that Dave Edwards, who joined the firm in 2015, has just been promoted to sales and marketing director,” said Tex.

“Dave brought with him a wealth of product knowledge and market experience to the business helping us to secure valuable franchises such as Amazone, Krone, and Opico Heva over the past three years.

“We are looking forward to building on this success and continuing to provide our customers with a reliable and cost effective level of service.”

Pontesbury Tractors covers the Midlands and Mid Wales and Tex and Dave are out and about on farms talking to farmers and advising on the best equipment to suit their needs as well as arranging demonstrations of machinery on the farm.

As well as the well-equipped workshop, the Pontesbury team has a fleet of service vehicles for on-farm repairs , offering a 24-hour call out service during busy harvest times to ensure equipment is kept working.

As a Case IH Harvest specialist dealer, selling Case IH tractors and harvesting machinery, Pontesbury Tractors is pleased to promote the brands’ latest line up of equipment including the award winning Case IH Maxxum Multicontroller tractors with ActiveDrive 8 transmission.

The new ActiveDrive 8 version of its latest Maxxum Multicontroller tractor range won a Machine of the Year title for 2018 at Agritechnica in recognition of the performance and cost-saving benefits the new transmission and other range developments bring mid-size tractor market segment.

The latest Maxxum Multicontroller models feature a new semi-powershift transmission offering eight powershift steps in each of three ranges. Named ActiveDrive 8, it joins the existing four-speed semi-powershift and continuously-variable transmission options available on Maxxum tractors, which respectively have been renamed as ActiveDrive 4 and CVXDrive. ActiveDrive 8 provides a total of 24 speeds in both forward and reverse. The transmission incorporates a number of features designed to make the tractor more efficient and the driver more relaxed. A creeper version is optional available for special applications.

Covering speeds up to 10.2 km/h, range one is specifically designed for heavier draft work. For special applications requiring very low speeds, such as vegetable crop work, ActiveDrive 8 is also available with additional creep speeds. Range two, the main working range, covers nearly 90 per cent of all field, grassland and loader application requirements, allowing the tractor to work under full load, without any torque disruption, from 1.6-18.1 km/h.

In terms of operation, the clutch pedal is not required, making the transmission suited to power-hungry tasks where momentum is important, such as cultivations or mowing with twin or triple mowers. A true power shuttle ensures no loss of drive or traction during changes of direction on slopes, while ´Active Clutch’ feature improves ease of stopping and safety at road junctions or when stacking bales with a loader. Both shifting and shuttle can be modulated for a faster or slower response according to the task in hand.
