Enjoy fun in the sun while it lasts as Shropshire prepares for chillier weather

Strolling through parks, meeting up with friends and feeding the ducks have been the order of the day for Salopians basking in the spring sunshine this week.

The county has enjoyed bright weather, particularly on Tuesday and today, when we had highs of 20C. Our balmy climes have bettered even the holiday hotspots of Malaga in Spain and Palermo in Italy.

People flocked to some of Shropshire's picturesque and pleasant outdoor spaces, including Dale End Park in Ironbridge, where locals went to chat and relax. Many have been enjoying reacquainting with family and friends since the lockdown rules were relaxed on Monday, with the rule of six for outdoors and private gardens introduced.

However, you might want to take a coat if you're planning any more catch up meetings this week as there is likely to be a bit more of a nip in the air. Highs of around 13C and lows of 3C are expected tomorrow, with temperatures dropping a couple of degrees over tomorrow - Good Friday - and Saturday.

The Met Office expects the weather to get slightly warmer on Sunday, again with highs of 13C and lows of 3C, before a wet and rainy Monday.

A spokesman for the Met Office said: "Temperatures move back down to average into this period, with sunny spells and patchy cloud. Cold in the nights, with frosts possible."
