Driver trapped in wreckage after Cleobury Mortimer crash

A driver had to be released from the wreckage of a car following a crash at Cleobury Mortimer.

The accident happened at 3.30pm yesterday and involved one vehicle. Firefighters from Cleobury Mortimer were quickly on the scene and other fire appliances attending included the rescue tender from Wellington.

One person was released by the fire service in an operation taking half an hour.

Meanwhile, four vehicles were involved in a crash on a busy holiday route on the Shrophire border, leading to diversions.

The accident happened on the A5/A483 Chirk bypass between the Gledrid and Halton roundabouts yesterday morning.
