Car bursts into flames after crash near Whitchurch

A car burst into flames following an accident near Whitchurch..

The car had been involved in a crash with a second vehicle in Prees.

Two fire engines from Prees and Whitchurch attended the accident on Prees Road and found that one of the vehicles was alight.

They used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to deal with the fire.

The accident happened shortly before 5pm on Saturday.

There were no injuries.

In another accident, a man was taken to hospital with minor injuries after his vehicle left the road at Caynham Bridge, near Ludlow, at about 10pm on Saturday.

The man, who was driving a red Kia estate, was taken to hospital in Hereford after suffering a bang to the head.

Emergency services were also called to the scene of a crash close to a notorious accident blackspot on Saturday.

It happened at 3.45pm at the junction of the A483 close to the Maesbury junction, near Oswestry.

Road closures and diversions were put in place.
