Car and van crash in foggy conditions on Shropshire roads

Firefighters have issued a warning after thick fog covered Shropshire this morning.

Crews from Bridgnorth attended a collision between a car and van near The Wheel at Worfield, near Bridgnorth, at about 5am this morning

One person, who was not trapped, received treatment from an ambulance crew.

The fire service made the vehicles safe and the collision prompted crews to issue a safety warning.

A spokesman for Bridgnorth Fire Station said: "Please take extra care on your commute or other journeys this morning.

There are some thick areas of fog around the town this morning, especially on the main A roads.

We have just returned from one road traffic collision, let's hope it's the last."

Overnight emergency crews were scrambled after a car crashed into a central reservation in Shrewsbury.

The accident happened on the A5 between Edgebold and Bayston Hill shortly before 7.20pm on Sunday night.

A crew from Shrewsbury Fire Station attended the scene along with an ambulance and police.
