Fire crews from Telford and Wellington were called to a car that had flipped onto its roof on the A5 approaching Shrewsbury, between Cluddley and Preston, at about 7.20am this morning.

However, nobody was trapped in the vehicle and crews made it safe.

Drivers were warned to approach with caution however, as traffic was diverted around the scene, with one lane closed. The road was cleared by about 9am.

On the same morning at about 8.30am another car caught fire further up on the M54 near junction two, north of Wolverhampton.

One lane westbound was closed between junction two and junction three near Albrighton, while firefighters dealt with the blaze.
