Dr Michael Truss, who will succeed Concord College’s current principal Neil Hawkins in September, will take part in the welcome talk as well as a live Q&A session from 10.30am on February 2.

This follows the success of Concord’s first online open day which was attended by over 400 families last October.

The live Q&A session will also involve Concord’s head of lower school Rachel Coward.

The second live talk on the college’s admissions process will feature head of marketing Vanessa Hawkins and admissions secretary Karen Pike.

The third talk will be a presentation about Concord’s summer courses followed by a live Q&A with director of summer school Kari Quant and Sharon Connor, summer course senior administrator.

For those who sign up to the open day there will also be the chance to watch an exclusive video tour of the campus which was filmed recently.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mr Hawkins said: “I really hope families are able to join us on February 2 to learn a little more about Concord and what I believe makes it so uniquely special.

“I am delighted to say that Concord’s new principal Dr Michael Truss will be joining us for the welcome presentation – and that he will be taking on his new role as principal in September 2021.

“He is greatly looking forward to joining the Concord community.”

He added: “Dr Truss is a highly intelligent, experienced and skilled educator who has great warmth and humanity.”

For those unable to attend in real time the online open day live talks will be recorded and available to view after the event.
