Students from the college's Oswestry Campus marked World Mental Health Day by providing information to students, staff and vsitors and by setting up a special nail bar.

Access to Higher Education Health Student Jordan Rogers said: ‘It’s important for us to mark this day about mental health issues, education is the key to stopping ignorance.

"We have seen a significant increase in recent years of young people dealing with a number of mental health issues. The College has hubs available at both Oswestry and Walford to support students of all ages with any particular issues they

may be having in terms of personal issues, or their academic studies and workloads."

Megan Morris who studies the Law and Criminology course, said: "From personalexperience with my family I’ve experienced a lack of understanding about mental health issues and the need for people to be more aware.’

"I use the hub daily, it provides me with a safe haven, a quiet environment where I can work effectively and see my friends. I know without the hub I don’t think I’d still be at College. It’s a fantastic resource students from all courses who need

help can use."
