Man charged with assault and non-fatal strangulation of emergency service worker

A 27-year-old man from a village near Chirk and Llangollen has been charged with non-fatal strangulation and assaulting an emergency worker.

Breck Williams, 27, of Trem y Gardden, Penycae, appeared at Llandudno Magistrates Court on Thursday where he was remanded in custody to appear before Mold Crown Court on April 6.

He was also charged with several motoring offences including dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving with no insurance and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

It comes after a police officer was allegedly assaulted in Johnstown, Wrexham, shortly after 12am on Wednesday, March 8.
