Brian Sasa, 20, of Long Ley in Heath Town, Wolverhampton was one of four murderers found guilty of killing 15-year-old Keelan Wilson three years ago in the city. They were sentenced last week after being convicted.

On Friday Sasa was also sentenced for drugs offences, which he was arrested for while police were investigating the murder.

He was taken into custody having been caught with the drugs a fortnight after taking part in the killing, and officers soon learned he was a suspect in the murder probe.

A statement from West Mercia Police said: "Sasa was arrested following a vehicle stop on Junction 4 of the M54 at around 8am on Thursday, June 14, 2018. Police found approximately £780 of heroin and cocaine in his pockets, along with a number of phones.

"Once Sasa was in custody officers discovered he was wanted on suspicion of murder following the death of Keelan Wilson. He was arrested for murder before being transferred to West Midlands Police custody and has since been convicted and sentenced."

West Mercia Police Superintendent Jim Baker said: “I am pleased to see an obviously dangerous man and a large quantity of drugs taken off the streets which we hope will disrupt County Lines drug dealing in the area.

“Tackling drugs and organised crime is a force priority and we will continue to relentlessly pursue those involved in these offences and the associated harm such as criminal exploitation, cuckooing and street violence.

“The officers in this case did a fantastic job in identifying the suspicious vehicle and apprehending Sasa, therefore aiding our partners at West Midlands Police.”

Brian Sasa, Nehemie Tampwo, Zenay Pennant-Phillips and Tyrique King, were all found guilty of murder in January after a 13-week trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

They were each sentenced to life in prison by Judge Michael Chambers QC who ordered Sasa, Tampwo and King to spend at least 18 years behind bars and gave Pennant-Phillips a minimum term of 17 years.

The judge said he believed that all four murderers were members of the WV3 postcode gang and had worked like a pack to pull Keelan out of a taxi and kill him.
