This year’s conference will move online, but he says this will give a much wider range of people and organisations the opportunity to join the event.

Mr Llywelyn will welcome a host of guest speakers from organisations who provide support services to victims, including Dame Vera Baird, the Victims' Commissioner.

“I’m looking forward to welcoming everyone to my fifth annual conference on Friday, which will this year focus on victims. Crime and anti-social behaviour can have devastating consequences for victims, and as Police and Crime Commissioner, I want to ensure that we improve the victims’ experiences and to ensure they receive support to cope and recover from the impact of crime," he said.

“It is imperative that victims know what information and support is available to them and the St David’s Conference is an opportunity to promote the support services available, and to hear from individuals and professionals who work in this area.

“It is a privilege to welcome the Victims’ Commissioner, Dame Vera Baird who will joins us to speak about her work representing all victims of crime, and with the conference this year being streamed live online, my hope is that those affected by crime and anti-social behaviour will join and engage with me and all the guest speakers during the day."

As well as the Victims Commissioner, the Police and Crime Commissioner Dafydd Llywelyn will be joined by representatives from Dewis Choice who support older people who have been victims of domestic abuse; temporary Deputy Chief Constable at Dyfed-Powys Police, Emma Ackland; Hugh Simkiss, the Head of Crime at HMCTS Wales; as well as Anne Campbell of Embrace Child Victims.

The conference will be streamed live at facebook.com/DPOPCC between 10am and 3pm.
