The group told police officers yesterday they had driven from Kensington to take a photograph of the view at the beauty spot near Church Stretton in Shropshire.

The 300-mile round trip cost them more than the fuel to get there though, as police issued three fixed penalty notices to the men for breaking lockdown rules.

South Shropshire police said the "only souvenir" of the more than 300 mile round trip would be the fines, as their phone batteries had died, meaning they couldn't take any photos.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team for South Shropshire tweeted: "3* FPN issued by Ludlow Response to males that have driven from Kensington to Little Stretton to take a photograph of the view.

"No photographs were taken as heir phone batteries had died, so the only souvenir of their 300 mile round trip will be the fines."
