The man was stopped by police after being clocked at 58mph in a 30mph zone on Station Road, Newport.

Newport's safer neighbourhood team said on Twitter: "'Late for work' is never an excuse for excess speed."

Officers completed a traffic offence report and the driver could face a fine, licence points, a speed awareness course or prosecution.
