Coronavirus fines handed out to Shropshire Hills visitors

Police say they have been continuing patrols at visitors spots in Shropshire – and highlighted two fines being handed out.

Police said they had handed out two fines while patrolling this morning

The South Shropshire Safer Neighbourhood Team said the fines had been handed out while they were on patrol in Church Stretton.

Carding Mill Valley has proved popular with visitors throughout lockdown – despite the area being who are not considered local being banned from travelling to the area.

The police team said that they had issued the fines this morning.

A post from the South Shrops Cops Twitter account said: "Two Covid fines already issued in Stretton this morning.

"Regular patrols are being carried out in and around the beauty spots of Shropshire by SNT."
