Police had cordoned off the scene as part of the investigation

Police say the inquiry into the death of a 32-year-old man in Dawley, Telford, is ongoing, and is being treated as "unexplained".

The man died after being found unresponsive in High Street, Dawley, on Boxing Day.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "Two men arrested in connection with the incident have been released – one man has been released on police bail, a second man has been released under investigation."

Police also confirmed that a Home Office post mortem is due to be carried out today.

In their initial appeal, police had said that two other men who helped the man get into a taxi outside the Talbot Inn at about 7.30pm could be "key witnesses" and urged anyone who could help the investigation to call 101.

Speaking on Friday, Detective Chief Inspector Mark Bellamy said: “This is currently being treated as unexplained and our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died at this difficult time.

“We know he was in the Talbot Inn in Dawley before getting into a taxi and believe he was helped by two men who we’re keen to speak to as witnesses to our enquiries.

"We don’t believe the men are involved at all and they are very much being sought as key witnesses and I would urge them to get in contact with us.”
