Man on the run for three years found hiding in loft of Telford house

A wanted man on the run for three years was arrested in Telford today by police who found him hiding in a loft.

The Metropolitan Police have been searching for the man, who recently moved to Telford, since 2016.

Today's operation saw West Mercia Police officers search the house, eventually finding the suspect in the loft.

Officers tweeted: "Off to #Arrest a male who has been wanted by @metpoliceuk since 2016, recently moved to #Telford. Searched the house & found him hiding in the loft, 5 year olds are better at hide & seek than this numpty! Sat in a cell waiting to be shipped to #London now. 20450 #CantHideFromUs."

The man was being returned to London for questioning.
