Residents who may have seen suspicious white vans in Telford are being urged to contact police to help with their investigations, especially those with CCTV.

Between Tuesday and Thursday last week police received three reports of a white van with two people inside, driving slowly along residential streets.

The sightings were at Roe Deer Green in Newport at about 11pm on Tuesday, at Wellington Road in Muxton at 10.30pm on Wednesday and at Eltham Drive in Priorslee at about 8am on Thursday.

Police said it is unclear whether the people involved were the same in each incident, but detectives at Telford's criminal investigations department (CID) are investigating.

A statement said: "Detectives at Telford CID are keen to gather as much information and intelligence as possible and would appeal to residents throughout the borough to report any further such sightings to Telford police on 101 straight away.

"Persons living in the streets mentioned who may have CCTV systems at their properties are asked to review their footage for the relevant date and time, and to contact DC 1911 Ian Benjamin at Malinsgate Police Station, Telford, via the 101 number should they find any images which may assist police enquiries."
