Robbers grab man by the throat in Market Drayton street

A man was grabbed by the throat during a robbery in Market Drayton.

It was one of a number of offences to take place around the town on Sunday.

Between 8pm and 9pm the victim was stopped by two men and a woman in Barton Lane while he was on his way home.

They asked for a cigarette, then one grabbed him by the throat, before stealing a phone, wallet and cigarettes.

The attacker was described as bald, 5ft 9ins, of medium build and with a foreign accent, possibly Eastern European. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 using incident number 0757s of March 3.

Vans were also targeted by young men with a white Ford Fiesta or similar vehicle.

Between 5.20pm and 6.15pm on the same day, windows were broken on two vans at High Heath in Market Drayton were attacked with windows being broken.

Two men, described as in their early 20s and using a white Ford Fiesta or similar vehicle, were seen in the vicinity. The incident number is 0581s.

At about 5.30pm on the same day, two males with a white Ford Fiesta or similar were seen trying to break into a van on a driveway in Links Green, Hinstock. They drove away when challenged.
