Jurors in the trial of Alex Hepburn had been told they could make a majority direction after deliberating for more than five hours.

Former Worcestershire all-rounder Hepburn, 23, denied two counts of rape alleged to have been committed in April 2017 on a woman who had earlier had consexual sex with his team-mate, former Oswestry cricketer Joe Clarke.

On the fifth day of the trial, judge Jim Tindal told the jury the court he could now accept verdicts on which at least 10 members of the panel were agreed but when they were unable to do so he discharged them.
