Seven men in court over Telford stabbing

Seven men are on trial for allegedly taking part in a violent altercation that saw two others stabbed.

The men, three of them from Telford, have all denied causing grievous bodily harm to two men in Bank Way, Ketley, in June of this year.

Each of them is charged with violent disorder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Nathan Stephens and his uncle Shaun Stephens.

Police found the two men with serious injuries at about 7.50pm on June 29.

Andrew Prempeh, 21, Declan Taverner, 18, Tyler Love, 21, Neon Manu, 19, Kyle Watson, 22, Travis Perkin, 24, and Ryan Ginty, 24, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Wednesday for the beginning of their trial.

A jury was sworn in, and the trial will resume tomorrow.

The trial is expected to last about three weeks.

Prempeh is of Burford in Brookside, Taverner of Fifth Avenue in Ketley Bank, Love of Burtondale in Brookside, Neon and Watson of no fixed address, Perkin of Church Street in Rhosllanerchrugog, Wrexham, and Ginty of Eastham Way, Little Hulton in Greater Manchester.

Perkin and Ginty were bailed for the duration of the trial, and the other men are remanded in custody.
