Nearly 90 fail drink or drug drive tests in Shropshire police crackdown
Nearly 90 people have failed drink or drug driving tests in Shropshire over the past three weeks, police have revealed.
The festive clampdown on drink and drug drivers has seen 87 people in Shropshire failing tests.
They are now set for a court appearance, and Chief Superintendent Kevin Purcell revealed that a "staggering" 246 people had failed the tests across the West Mercia area.
Writing on Twitter he said: "Christmas Eve marks week three in @WMerciaPolice Christmas Drink and Drug Drive campaign... a staggering 246 people failed tests and are heading for court... unbelievable!"
