Pedestrian killed in A41 crash named as man aged 53

A man who died after being hit by a car on the A41 has been named by police.

Pedestrian Hayden Adams, aged 53, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near Wolverhampton in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Mr Adams, from Codsall near Wolverhampton, was hit by a white Mercedes on the A41 Newport Road shortly after midnight.

Mr Adams suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene in Kingswood, between Wolverhampton and Albrighton, just before the junction with County Lane.

The driver of the Mercedes was also injured in the crash and taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.

The A41 was closed from Kingswood Common in both directions until just after 5.30am.

Specialist officers are supporting his family.

An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is now underway by officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, has dash-cam footage or may have seen anyone walking on the A41 Newport Road is asked to call 101 quoting incident number two of December 1.
