Vehicles targeted by youths in Shrewsbury

A number of vehicles have been targeted by youths in Shrewsbury in recent days.

A vehicle in Woodcote Way, Monkmoor, was attacked by what was described as two young men between the ages of 12 and 14.

The vehicle was damaged but police said the youths did not get inside.

The incident happened between 4.30am and 6am on October 17.

Meanwhile, the windscreens of other vehicles in Woodcote Way were also smashed during the same night, and similar incidents were reported in Monkmoor Road, Monkmoor Avenue, Victoria Road and Underdale Avenue.

A report at about 10.30pm on October 16 described the suspected offenders as appearing to be 15 to 16-year-old boys.

Over the same night, a garage in Copthorne Drive was raided and an orange and grey Nukeproof Mega mountain bike and a green and yellow Trek Hard trail bike were stolen.

The next evening at about 7.30pm an attack on a detached garage in Abbots Place, Monkmoor, was reported. A door was forced off its runner but no thefts were noted.

Later in the week a man was seen trying the doors of houses and cars in Kemps Eye Avenue, Belle Vue.

The man, who was spotted about 6.15pm on October 20, was described as white, aged 20 to 30 with dark hair and wearing a blue jacket and sunglasses.

He was seen entering one vehicle but no thefts were reported.
