Daniel Phillips, 23, of Darby Road, Coalbrookdale, has been standing trial at Shrewsbury Crown Court over the alleged rape of a woman.

He denied the rape and putting a person in fear of violence, allegations which dated back to March and April 2016.

Opening the trial, prosecuting barrister Mr Arthur Gibson said the woman confided in her partner after she was allegedly raped by Mr Phillips.

He also said she had accused Mr Phillips of raping her in text messages.

But Mr Phillips denied the alleged crimes and has been found not guilty on both counts.
