Two arrests after teenager stabbed in Telford street attack

A teenager was taken to hospital after being stabbed on a Telford street.

The 18-year-old had to be treated for back injuries after the attack in Blakemoor, Brookside, Telford just after 5pm on Thursday.

Another 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were arrested and remain in police custody.

Laura Maltby from West Mercia Police said: "Police were called to Blakemore in Telford following a report of disorder.

"On attendance an 18-year old man was located with a stab wound. He was treated by ambulance staff but his injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening.

"Enquiries are currently ongoing and officers are keen to speak to people who were in the area at the time or who witnessed it.

"Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 622S of July 12."

West Midlands Ambulance spokesman Jamie Arrowsmith said: “We were called at two minutes past five on Thursday to reports of a patient who had been attacked on Blakemoor.

“We sent a land ambulance, air ambulance from Cosford, and a paramedic team.

“We treated an 18-year-old male for back injuries, but he was fully conscious.”
