The incident happened at Lloyds Bank in Donnington at around 11.20am today.

Police were called to the scene after a G4S security van was robbed while delivering money to the branch in Wrekin Drive.

The offenders are described as two men wearing dark clothing, who left the scene in a car thought to be a black Seat Leon.

Noone was harmed in the robbery.

Officers remained at the bank well into Tuesday afternoon while enquiries continued. Police tape sealed off the bank and car park, where the blue van remained in place.

Police are now urging anyone who saw the robbery or the Seat Leon to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Antony Cleobury, from West Mercia Police, said: "A thorough investigation has been launched and a number of enquiries are currently ongoing.

"We would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw a vehicle matching the above description in the area around this time to contact the police."

Jason Thorne from G4S Cash Solutions (UK) said: “One of our drivers was attacked during a routine delivery to a Lloyds Bank in Donnington.

“Fortunately he was not hurt, but this was a deplorable attack in the middle of the day and we strongly urge anybody with information to contact the police so the offenders can be brought to justice.”

Anyone with any information should contact the police on 101, quoting incident reference 273s of June 26, 2018, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111.
