Police today appealed for witnesses to the attack, which took place in Crescent Road, Hadley, at around 10.30pm on Saturday.

The victim suffered head injuries in the attack and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

Police say he is continuing to recover after the assault.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident but police are continuing investigations to find any other people who may have witnessed it.

They said they were particularly keen to identify anyone connected to a red/burgundy Hyundai Santa Fe, which is believed to have been in the area at the time.

Detective Inspector Billy Scott said: “We understand the concern an incident like this can cause to local residents and I’d like to reassure the local community that two people have been arrested. Those involved in this incident do know each other, however, we’re still continuing to appeal for witnesses and I would ask anyone who saw what happened or the car in the street to get in contact with us.”

Officers have also asked anyone who lives in the Crescent Road area and has CCTV footage of the street, to get in touch with them.

Anyone who witnessed the assault, or saw a vehicle fitting the above description in the area at that time can contact West Mercia Police 101, quoting reference 819S of June 9, 2018.
