Kieran Goodwin, 19, of Little Henfaes Drive, Welshpool, was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life after he admitted 32 offences including sexual activity with a child and causing a child to watch an indecent act.

Judge Rhys Rowlands, sitting at Mold Crown Court, said Goodwin was a “hefty young man with a voracious appetite for illicit sexual activity with young girls.” He called the crimes appalling, while sentencing him to four years and three months.

There were seven victims between May 2016 and last September.

Judge Rowlands told Goodwin: “Your behaviour was repeated and it had a very profound effect, not just upon the victims, but also their families.”

Initially Goodwin was interviewed by Dyfed-Powys Police officers in November 2016 about his behaviour towards a girl a few years younger than him.

The judge said Goodwin had showed arrogance by ignoring the fact he had been interviewed and carrying on.

He told Goodwin: “Thereafter and showing plain arrogance and disregard for the feelings of others, you continued to seek out other young underage girls for sexual activity.”

Judge Rowlands told the court that it was “predatory” behaviour, with Goodwin targeting young girls.

“You were out seeking to take advantage of these young girls,” he remarked, while sentencing Goodwin. “Custody is quite inevitable.”

Prosecutor John Philpotts said Goodwin had sent lewd snaps on social media, as well as having sex.

The judge said schoolgirls had been “pressurised” by the defendant.
