Matthew Davenport, 41, of Churchill Road, must now sign the notification sex offenders register with immediate effect so that the police are aware of his location.

At Shrewsbury Crown Court Davenport pleaded guilty to the offence, which happened between September 25 and December 12, 2017.

Prosecuting barrister Mr Neil Ahuja said: "He was caught out by paedophile hunters. He had been messaging a youth and asked to meet him, but no arrangements were actually made to meet. The youth didn't reply."

Davenport was granted conditional bail and will be sentenced in June.
