The Kings Arms in Shropshire Street was broken into at 3.15am on Sunday, and police say roughly £1,000 worth of booze was taken.

Police are looking into the incident, and anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 289S of April 22.

Community support officer Andy King said: "The pub is currently being refurbished and the offender had got in by removing a piece of wood that was covering a window.

"If anyone is offered bottles of spirits in the coming days then it would be a good idea to call us."
