CCTV released after women's purse stolen at Oswestry supermarket

Police have released CCTV footage after a woman's purse was stolen from her handbag as she was shopping in an Oswestry supermarket.

It comes six months after an 87-year-old woman had her purse stolen in the same supermarket.

In the latest incident a woman's purse was stolen from her handbag on March 29, at around 1.45pm, in the Aldi supermarket on Beatrice Street.

West Mercia Police have released CCTV footage from inside the store, and are keen to speak to the man and woman in the footage as it is thought they were in the area at the time and may have information that can help police with their enquiries.

The man and woman, or anyone who recognises them, are asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101 quoting reference 330S 290318.

The incident comes after an 87-year-old woman's purse was stolen in the supermarket in October.

One man pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay compensation and complete 200 hours of unpaid work.

It prompted a fundraising appeal which saw people donate almost £5,000 to the victim.
