Victim's jaw broken in unprovoked Bridgnorth attack

A man had his jaw broken in an unprovoked attack in a town centre.

The man in his 20s was set upon by a gang of men on Bridgnorth High Street on Saturday evening.

Laura Maltby from West Mercia Police said the force is appealing for witnesses to the attack, which is believed to have happened between 11.30pm and just after midnight.

She said: "As the man was near the town hall, he was approached by four or five men who are believed to have assaulted him.

"The victim suffered a broken jaw and was taken to hospital for treatment. It is not known in which direction the men left.

"Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time.

"Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 639S of April 15."
