Jonathan Evans had more than 1,000 stills and videos on devices recovered by police.

At Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday Evans was jailed for a total of 18 months after admitting three offences of distributing images and two of possession of indecent material.

Evans, of High Street, Dawley, was also made subject to sexual harm prevention order for 10 years and must be on the sex offenders register for a similar period.

The court heard Evans was traced by email addresses in October 2016 following the arrest of a man in London in 2013 who had been communicating about compiling and distributing indecent images.

Relationship

Mr Simon Rippon, prosecuting, said Evans had 1,158 images of all categories of seriousness on an iPhone and police also discovered more than a dozen videos.

At the time Evans was in a relationship with 31-year-old Christopher Woodhouse, who was also in the dock having admitted seven charges of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

The offences were discovered during a police inquiry after Woodhouse had invited males between the ages of 14 and 18 to undress.

Woodhouse, also of High Street, Dawley, was given an 18-month prison sentence, suspended for two years and must attend rehabilitation programmes and complete 100 hours unpaid work.
