Man arrested on firearms charges

A man was arrested in a police swoop after allegedly threatening to kill a woman and having unlicensed firearms.

Police were called at about 11pm on Sunday night to a property on Mary Webb Road, Meole Brace, Shrewsbury, following reports that a man had threatened a woman on an earlier date, and may also be in possession of firearms.

A man was arrested on suspicion of possessing firearms without a licence and on suspicion of making threats to kill. He is still in police custody.
