Ileishia Cureton and Kelli Bradley set up dual fundraisers on Facebook and on JustGiving to raise enough money to pay for a fitting funeral and tribute for Lynn McNally, who was found stabbed to death at a house in Ketley Bank, Telford, last month.

The JustGiving fundraiser page set up by the daughters smashed its initial £200 target just hours after it began, and this week it reached its new £800 goal.

It got there with the help of a flurry of donations on Monday, totalling £114 - with donations including £89 from Caroline Strawson, who said: "Much love and I lost my mum so know how it feels, so I hope this helps in some small way."

Ileishia and Kelly said they wanted to give their beloved mother "the best send off we can".

On reaching the target, Ileishia said: "From the bottom of our hearts thank you. So much love to the ones that have donated to help us reach our target, means a lot, and to all that have shared."

The Facebook fundraiser had garnered £130 at the time of writing, and has now closed.

Ms McNally, 46, of Mullinder Drive, died of multiple knife wounds on February 21. Paul Beddoes is accused of her murder, and is due to enter a plea at Stafford Crown Court on April 20. He is currently in custody.
