Hunt for attackers after serious assault in pub beer garden

Police are hunting for two men in connection with a serious assault at a pub.

It follows an incident at at 10.25pm on Tuesday in the beer garden at the rear of The Black Boy pub in Broad Street, Newtown.

Police said the injuries suffered by the victim were of 'GBH levels.'

Pc Grace Coburn said she has appealed for two women who were in the beer garden at the time of the incident and helped the victim afterwards to contact her.

"The incident took place in the pub’s beer garden and involved two offenders and one victim," said Pc Coburn.

"The two offenders are described as one male who is described as being large in build, tall, fair/brown coloured hair, wearing a white striped t-shirt, grey tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

“The other male is described as having an average to muscular build, tall, with fair/brown coloured hair, wearing a dark coloured T-shirt, a brown jacket, denim jeans and wearing shoes rather than trainers.

“The victim as a result has received GBH level injuries and the identities of the two suspects involved are sought urgently.

"We would like to speak to the two females who at this stage have not been identified, however, were in the pub beer garden at the time of the incident and assisted the victim after being assaulted.”
