57-year-old man re-arrested over Shrewsbury stabbing

A man has been re-arrested in connection with a stabbing on New Year’s Day in Shrewsbury in which two people were injured.

The 57-year-old was arrested initially after the incident on New Year's Day at about 11pm, before being released from arrest to receive hospital treatment.

He was re-arrested yesterday on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The arrest is in relation to a disturbance in Hereford Road where two people suffered stab and head injuries.

The man has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

The two injured men were released from hospital after receiving treatment.
