Samuel Jones, 29, is alleged to have been told “no” repeatedly by the victim as he tried to kiss her multiple times, before raping her in Market Drayton.

She reported the alleged incident to West Mercia Police in the early hours of the following day, November 17, 2016.

Jonesc of Swallow Road, Stoke on Trent, appeared for trial at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday where he faces allegations of rape, and two counts of sexual assault.

He also faces a charge of sexual assault on a different and unrelated victim in Macclesfield in June 2016.

Simon Parry, prosecuting, told the court Jones messaged his victim and told her he was in a car park in the town.

The pair left to go to McDonald's at about 8.30pm on November 16, before returning to her property and watching television, the court heard.

At about 10.15pm, Jones made advances towards the alleged victim, but she turned away when he tried to kiss her, Mr Parry said.

She told him “no”. However when sitting next to him on a sofa 15 minutes later, he held her hands above her head and tried to kiss her again, the court heard.

She again said “no” to which Jones replied: “I know you want to”, the jury was told.

Mr Parry said Jones again held her wrists as she tried to push him away.

The court was told the alleged victim moved back to the chair, but 10 minutes later he approached her for a third time and tried to kiss her and he was told “no” once more.

He then held her wrists and assaulted her, the court was told.

She described him as looking angry, and told him to stop.

She then told him to get out, before calling her mother and a friend, and then reporting the incident to the police.

Mr Parry added: “She pushed the defendant away and told him no, and was not somebody who wanted his advances.” He said the victim contacted the police the next day.

The trial continues.
