Man charged with drink-driving after car crashes into embankment

A 28-year-old man has been charged with drink-driving after a car left the road and became stuck down an embankment.

Police were called to a single-vehicle crash at the A483 roundabout at Sarn y Bryncaled, Welshpool, at 6.42pm, on Wednesday.

A red Mazda had left the road and was stuck down the embankment, but no injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "A red Mazda RX-8 left the road and became stuck down an embankment. No injuries were reported. Fire also attended the scene.

"Twenty-eight-year-old Marc Jones, from Newtown, has been charged with drink-driving and is due to appear at Welshpool Magistrates Court at a later date.”
