Daniel Whyte, of Foundry Lane, Welshpool, sent the messages to the victim.

He then began communicating with her on the same day, September 16 when he threatened to kill her and told her he was watching her house. He admitted sending by public communication network an offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing message.

Chair of the bench at Welshpool Magistrates, Nick Powell, told Whyte, 19, that he had an unenviable track record and needed to take help offered to him from the probation service.

Prosecutor Ms Helen Tench said Whyte first contacted the woman on social media.

Mr Owain Jones, defending, said his client regrets his actions, and on his last appearance in court he was living in a tent, but now lives in a caravan.

He would welcome probation intervention if it was offered to him.

Whyte was made subject to a 12-month community order and a restraining order. He will pay a £50 fine and £50 compensation to the victim Miss Jackson.
