Police seized a car found abandoned after crashing into a hedge near Shifnal.

The empty Alfa Romeo was discovered in the early hours of Thursday in the London Road area close to Crackley Bank.

Shifnal and Albrighton Safer Neighbourhood Team said: " A black Alfa Romeo had been involved in a single car road traffic collision, the car was embedded in a hedge alongside the road.

"No one was with the vehicle and there were no signs that any occupant of the vehicle had been injured.

"Checks on the vehicle were conducted and it was discovered that it had no insurance and the road tax and MoT had expired. As a result of this, the car was seized.

"Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision and will be speaking to the registered keeper to ask if they can account for the incident."
