Shrewsbury rape probe: Man arrested is released on bail

A man arrested on suspicion of rape has been released on bail.

The 35-year-old was arrested last week by detectives investigating the rape of a man in his 20s in the New Street area of Shrewsbury in the early hours of September 9.

The rape is alleged to have taken place between The Boathouse Pub and Pengwern Boat Club at around 3.10am.

Helen Blake, spokeswoman for West Mercia Police said: "The man who was arrested in connection with the incident has been released on bail until October 13."
