No arrests after girl hit by car on Shrewsbury's Mytton Oak Road

No arrests have been made after a girl was left with "serious" injuries when she was hit by a car on Mytton Oak Road in Shrewsbury.

Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses to the crash on July 24.

The crash involved a silver Peugeot, which hit the girl on the busy road near to the Co-operative store.

On the day around nine emergency vehicles rushed to the scene and the road was closed for some time.

The girl was taken to the nearby Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for treatment on serious injuries to her legs and pelvis.

Her condition was stabilised at the Shrewsbury hospital before she was transferred to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool for specialist care.

The elderly woman driver of the Peugeot was also treated at the scene for a suspected heart attack.

The car had also knocked over a pedestrian crossing light and had come to rest on a BT internet box.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is still being asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident 589s of July 24.
