Wrekin Retail Park death: Man appears charged with causing death of Telford pensioner
A man has denied causing death by careless driving, after a 73-year-old woman died at a Telford retail park.
Andrew Charles Richards, 54, of Orchard Close, Cressage, appeared at Telford Magistrates Court yesterday to deny the one charge, relating to the death of Janet Lane at Wrekin Retail Park.
Mrs Lane, of Woodhouse Crescent, Trench, was crossing the road at the retail park when she was struck on November 22, 2016.
At the opening of her inquest last year, the hearing heard she had died from multiple injuries.
The case will next be heard at Shrewsbury Crown Court on August 21. Richards was granted unconditional bail until that date.
