Market Drayton man pleads guilty to butcher’s van arson

A man has admitted smashing the window of a butchers and setting fire to its van.

Jack Boswell, 28, of Wylie Court, Market Drayton, admitted a charge of damaging property and arson of the Mercedes Sprinter van belonging to Scott Shepley of Shepley's Butchers.

He denied a count of attempted burglary relating to the incident on April 24, at the butchers on Shrewsbury Road in Market Drayton.

The plea was accepted by the prosecution at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday and the case was adjourned until September 1.
