West Mercia Police have confirmed that the two, who are both from Merseyside, were arrested on Thursday, June 22.

The arrests came as police were seen, including armed officers, in the Crewe Street, Sydney Avenue, and Underdale Road areas of Shrewsbury during the afternoon.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicious of breach of court order, and a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of money laundering and conspiracy to supply drugs.

Both were released under investigation.

Jason Wells, local policing commander, said that despite the presence of armed officers the operation did not relate to any risk to the public.

He said: "We want to reassure any members of the public who may have seen this activity that officers were responding to intelligence as part of an ongoing investigation and there is no known risk to the wider community."
