Jewellery stolen in Newport burglary

Jewellery has been stolen during a burglary at a home in Newport.

It happened yesterday, between 8.15am and 5.30pm, on Beechfields Way.

PC Lee Thomas, an officer on Newport Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said entry was made to the property by breaking a ground floor window.

Jewellery was taken, the value of which is yet unknown.

The policing team has appealed for anyone with information, or who may have seen something suspicious at the time to come forward.
